Procurement Guidelines

The Department of Public Finance has carried many knowledge dissemination programs on GPMCM for the key government institutions and other relevant stakeholders to make the staffs aware on the principles of contracts management and to help them to understand how they should use the Guide on contracts managements.

Mr. P. Algama, Director General of the Department of Public Finance and the other key staff explain as to how the Guide could assist on the spectrum of contracts management, how it was evolved to the publishing stage, the objectives and advantages of the Guide. The presenter who was involved in the preparation of the Guide explains briefly the requirement in Sinhala also.

It is important that the GPMCM which was developed for Sri Lanka could be replicated in any country with suitable changes easily.

This short presentation briefly explains the contracts documents usedin public contracts in Sri Lanka, the content of the Guide, importance of it to the projects’ staff, key areas covered and ends with some aspects on projects management issues.
